The website of Affilorama tells you that they are an online community and a training center for aspiring affiliate marketers. There are 4 programs they offer for learning about affiliate marketing: Free Lessons, AffiloBlueprint, AffilioJetpack and Affilorama Premium.

The Good:

#1: A lot of information for free.

#2: A one-time fee for a course and 1 year of hosting.

#3: A 30-day trial of Premium for only $1,-.

The Bad:

#1: With the free membership you are still not creating. It is good for someone who already has a website.

#2: No live support. You have to wait for an answer.

#3: After one year you have to find hosting for your website.

#4: Some training is outdated.

Who is Affilorama For?

Affilorama is for people who want to start out with Affiliate marketing. They have a step by step program for them. On the other hand, it is for people who want to start with Affiliate marketing, but do not have the time (AffiloJetpack).

Free Lessons

By only providing your name and email you get access to their free lessons. The lessons are about different aspects of affiliate marketing. There are over a 100 videos and notes. Even without giving your email address you can see some lessons.

AffiloBlueprint

The AffiloBlueprint is a 12-week program that gives you step-by-step directions what to do. There are more detailed videos than in the free lessons. Also, you will have to complete homework each week.

AffiloJetpack

The AffiloJetpack is a total package. It is a way to quickly build an affiliate website. They have eleven Jetpacks for niches. When you join, you can choose up to 5. What does a Jetpack contain?

Affilorama Support

There are different ways to get support from Affilorama. On their support page you can:

1) type in your question and they will come with an answer from their database. Well, they try. I could not find the answer to my question.

2) look for your answer by clicking on the category it belongs to.

3) look of one the popular articles is what you are looking for.

4) go to a Forum. Not a lot of activity, but you can get some basic questions answered.

5) email them or give them a call.

My Final Opinion of Affilorama

I think it is legit. Different ways to get info. If you have the Blueprint you do not need the Premium membership or vice versa.

I still think Wealthy Affiliate is better because of the Live Chat there is help always and the training videos are updated constantly.

What is Affiliate Marketing about?

Wealthy Affiliate and affiliate marketing are words that have been used in other posts on this website and more and more people are wondering what it is. It is not yet something that is commonly known. Although within the internet marketing world, everybody knows what the term means. But what is affiliate marketing about? There are different definitions used but they are all about the same.

As I said earlier, there are different definitions used. I will try to say it in a way that it is easy to understand.

Affiliate marketing is a marketing strategy where a company rewards/pays an individual person for attracting customers, sometimes even visitors, to that business. That individual person is called an affiliate.

Online there are different possibilities. Using a website is the possibility that first comes to mind. But it is not the only way. You can also use YouTube, SlideShare, Pinterest, Email marketing, Linkedin, and E-books.

Origin

This started almost 30 years ago. Can you imagine that? As soon as the internet presented itself, people became creative. In 1989 the concept of this type of marketing was introduced by William J. Tobin. He was the founder of PC Flowers & Gifts.

The affiliate marketing programs became widely known by amazon.com. They were not the first but they made an associate program that was liked by both companies and affiliates. Other companies copied this system so they could promote their affiliate programs too. In 1996 Amazon.com started to offer their associates banner or text links. The affiliate could put those banners and links on their websites. When visitors clicked on the links and went to the Amazon.com website, and became customers, the affiliate received a payment. A visitor becomes a customer when he or she buys something.

This is the way that most affiliate programs work nowadays.

Compensation for the affiliate

There are different ways that an affiliate can be paid, compensated. The compensation is not always necessary in the form of money. Sometimes you get a gift card or credit points for ‘free’ gifts. I’m going to give you the three most used forms of affiliate marketing in 2018.

Revenue sharing or pay per sale (PPS): this is when the company pays an affiliate for the cost of advertising when the visitor buys something, in other words, become a customer. This is the method used by 80% of the affiliate programs

Cost per action (CPA): 19% of the affiliate programs use this method. Other names used for CPA are cost per conversion or PPA (pay per acquisition). The company pays the affiliate for leads that result in a sale, a registration, a newsletter sign up. In other words, the company pays for a specific action.

Only 1% uses cost per click (CPC) or cost per mille (CPM), that is the cost per estimated 1000 views). The company makes use of display marketing. Display marketing is also a way of online advertising where the company’s promotional messages are put on social networks as Facebook or search engines results page (like Google and Yahoo).

Now that you know what affiliate marketing is all about? What are some reasons to become an affiliate? Well here are some reasons:

This is what most of us want. Isn’t it? This also means that you can do it beside your 9 to 5 job.

What are the possible reasons for a company to offer affiliate programs? When you have read all the above, you can imagine some reasons.

The far most common place to find affiliate programs is on the website of the company. Most of the time you find info about their affiliate marketing program by scrolling down their home page. Scroll down to the bottom and you will see something like associate or affiliate program.

Now that you know what affiliate marketing is about, would you like to join an affiliate marketing training to experience it for yourself? There are a lot of programs available. On this website, I have reviewed Wealthy Affiliate and Elite Marketing Pro. I have followed some free courses on the internet, but I had nothing after that. No sorry, I had more questions after the videos and lessons.

What I like about Wealthy Affiliate the most is the task-based video training. While in training you are creating websites, generating traffic and so on. Within 6 weeks of training, I got two pages indexed by Google.

But the choice is all yours. Educate yourself and soon you can make educated decisions on an affiliate program that suits you.

How to turn a passion into business?

I was in an event of learning how to trade Forex with more than 400 people, and the speaker asked who went to college. A lot of hands raised. Then he asked who is doing what he studied for. You could count on your two hands how many. It is such a pity. Most of us studied something that we liked or thought that it would bring us enough money.
As time passed and we are not doing what we like or what is bringing us money, we have to take a moment to assess the situation. Wouldn’t it be nice to do something you like, you are passionate about and earn enough money at the same time? What if you knew how to turn a passion into a business?

I remember when I was little my parents told me to do my best at school, go to college and get a good job so I could be doing what I wanted. It took a long time. Reading a lot of books about financial freedom and personal development, I came to understand that the mindset is everything.

So what is needed to turn your passion into a business?

Define your passion

To turn your passion into a business you have to know what you are passionate about. What gives you confidence and energy? What gives you a warm feeling? Sometimes you can figure this out for yourself. Sometimes it will not hurt to ask the people closest to you, like your family and friends, for their opinion. I would advise you to start with a list of things you like, so along the way you can choose better, which one you really want to turn into a business.

Here are some questions that can help you to get started:

what are the things that you like to talk about?
what activities make you forget time?
are there other people doing what you like? Are you following them?
can you make something, do something that other people admire?
are people telling you that you are good in …….
when you have time off, what do you do?
if you had enough money, what will you be working on?
how would you like people to remember you?
do you read? What do you read about?

I know I wanted a business but I had no idea in what. I was not used to thinking business wise. So most of the things I came up with, would not bring me any money. I decided to start with Wealthy Affiliate anyway. Wealthy Affiliate will teach you some skills in affiliate marketing you can practice in promoting their product. So I started. But while learning I got inspired. The community of Wealthy Affiliate is so big, helpful and there are so many stories of all over the world, that ideas come into your head. Things you never heard of before or never thought of.
My advice is to start somewhere and ideas will come rolling in.

Where are your customers?

By now you could have a list of things you like or are passionate about. Now you need to find out what other people would like to know about them. Would they be willing to pay for that product or service or info you will be offering? If you do not know go do some research. Ask people, read about it, google it and find a way you can make your passion needy and profitable. What you want is to help people out with their needs. You can read my article “How to sell your product online”.

When you know who your customers are you have to find out where you can find them. Some months ago my teenage daughter told me I was using Facebook too much so she will not be using it anymore. Just a tip!

Are they using the internet? If yes, how? Which platform do they use? Where do they use the internet and so on. So you have to think about a way to reach your customers.

From passion to business

When turning your passion into your business you need to realize what a business is all about. It is no longer doing only what you like to do, but it also has to do with marketing, financial statements, dealing with customers and so on. If you have never had a business before, you will be surprised how much time the business side will take from you. Sometimes you can end up with less time for what you like. Sometimes it even takes away a little passion off your passion.

Those are just things that could happen, especially with the traditional way of doing business. Wealthy Affiliate offers you a way to do business in this century with modern tools and technology. The way Wealthy Affiliate let you turn a passion into your business, you will be more into your passion. They will take care of most of the things you do not want or know about. It has to do a lot about writing about your passion. Before you can write something that will attract others you have to do your research. You have to write the right information. This will build trust with your customers. While repeating this cycle over and over again you will become an expert. You will be creating content that counts.

Now that you know which passion to turn into business and who you are going to target, it is time to make a plan. Put on paper:

how you are going to present your product to your customers
